The Pauquette Center for Psychological Services provides Employee Assistance Programs (EAP) to several local
companies and their employees. Our EAP is a confidential resource for employers
to provide help to employees with personal problems before these problems become
unmanageable and begin to affect employee productivity.
The goal of effective employee assistance
programs (EAP’s) is to keep workers on the job and functioning effectively.
EAP’s cost employers a few dollars per employee annually but are estimated to
save millions of dollars by reducing absenteeism and health insurance claims.
Recent estimates suggest that over 70% of firms with over 1000 employees have
adopted EAP programs. Research indicates that almost 70% of employees who have
access to an EAP program will utilize the available services.
The Pauquette Center Employee Assistance Program is available to businesses and
organizations in Columbia, Sauk, Juneau, Marquette and Adams counties. The
Pauquette Center offers the skills of a highly trained and professional staff at a fraction of
the cost of an internal full-time EAP coordinator. The full resources of
the Pauquette Center are available to employees of contracted employers. Comprehensive EAP services
are provided locally, in person and at a minimal cost to the employer.
Services provided through the Pauquette Center EAP include
crisis
intervention, mental health assessment and referral
services, alcohol and
other drug abuse evaluation and referral services, legal referrals, financial
counseling, housing and home ownership consultation, employer procedure and
policy development, employee orientation, pre-employment psychological
screening, supervisor
training, employee in-service
training, program evaluation
and human resources consultation. In addition, the EAP offers workshops to provide
information and training regarding a wide range of topics, including, for
example, workplace stress, anger management and adaptation to changes in the
work environment. Training and consultation is available to employees at all
managerial levels.
Services provided through the
Pauquette Center EAP Program include:
Crisis Intervention
- The EAP coordinator will respond to crisis needs to provide assessment,
intervention and referral services.
Mental Health Assessment and
Referral Services - Concerned about an
employee’s absenteeism, temper outbursts, or argumentativeness?
Psychological or psychiatric consultation is available within 24-hours.
Other services include treatment for marriage, parenting and family
difficulties as well as problems with depression, anxiety, anger and stress
related problems.
Alcohol and Other Drug Abuse
Evaluation and Referral Services - The
Pauquette Center’s
trained AODA professionals provided timely assessment and treatment referrals
for employees with suspected substance use problems.
Legal Referrals
- The EAP Coordinator will provide referral services for employees who may be
distressed by personal legal problems.
Financial Counseling
- The EAP Coordinator will provide direction, recommendation and referrals to
help employees find effective solution to their money problems.
Housing and Home Ownership
Consultation - The EAP Coordinator
will provide consultation and information to help employees resolve
difficulties related to housing needs.

EAP services are available to employees of
contracted employers twenty-four hours a day. The EAP coordinator is
available by pager to ensure prompt response to all inquiries.
EAP services are confidential within the scope
of Wisconsin state law.
